Zdeno Chára: We can´t hang our heads
Zdeno, can you describe your first KHL goal?
Klepiš went up to the blueline and I drove straight to the net. When he passed it, I saw that the goaltender was staying back in the net, I went hard to the net and forced it in. It was a grinder´s goal, but they all count the same.
Kazan was another strong team that you have recently come across.
They played the way we expected. They are strong on the puck, they have great individual players, overall they´re a very good team. It is true that a lot of those situations they had, we let them have, and in the second period they really pushed us. A great positive was that we were able to come back, and that goal just before the end was really unfortunate. That should not happen.
You´ve played some strong opponents and have stayed with them, but haven´t had the desired results.
We´re playing evenly-matched games and it´s too bad we haven´t been able to get any points. That is disappointing. On the other hand we can´t hang our heads, but instead try to win as soon as possible.
What about comparing the KHL and NHL? Can you compare the two leagues?
It´s a different style of play. Everything is different from traveling to the pace of the games. But I knew that, I expected it and I´m trying to acclimatise as quickly as possible and become part of the team. I feel very good and I believe that soon we will start getting going.
